Popular Corks Pop and Spring Menu Fare Sizzles at Westlake Village's Newest Wine Bar

Westlake Village, CA March 26, 2004 -- Bellavino Wine Bar's owner, Richard Belloff, and chef, Richard Hyman, jointly announced today both this season's most popular wine selections and new, spring menu fare at Bellavino in Westlake Village.

"The top wine selections currently are Adelaida Chardonnay 2001, Sauvignon Blanc 2002 Touraine, Two Hands 2002 Grenache Brave Faces, Rozak 2001 Santa Rita Hills, Whispering Dove 2001 Napa Valley, and Corte Riva Vineyards 2001 Merlot," stated Belloff. "These are wines with a virtually universal appeal, and are enjoyed by both wine lovers and those who are new to the art of wine" stated Belloff.

To enhance the Bellavino Wine Bar experience, Chef Richard Hyman has designed a spring menu that displays his culinary artistry and utilizes in-season ingredients to create an array of light, hearty and dessert fare. The Spring menu includes lighter plates of steamed Prince Edward Island mussels in a Chardonnay broth, broiled tomato and aged goat cheese with pesto oil, and baked brie with Medjool date compote and pine nuts; heartier plates such as grilled long line swordfish, grilled pork loin over apple, onion, caraway and currant compote , and seared day boat scallops and shitake mushroom compote with spring onion pesto; and croissant-bourbon bread pudding with caramel, chocolate fondue with fresh fruit, and a daily crème brulee.

"Our new dishes celebrate the fresh flavors of spring, and fully complement any number of wine pairings" explained Hyman "We're here to ensure that our customers have an exceptional wine and food experience; and we're always happy to make a sparkling recommendation as to the wine!" said Hyman.

"An afternoon or evening visit to Bellavino offers an opportunity to sample superb wine and food pairings, in an intimate, plush setting" said Belloff. "Bellavino always offers a fresh, new way to enjoy the complete wine experience. Come in this spring, have a glass of wine and see for yourself!" concluded Belloff.
